I've been out a couple times this month tossing dries on the local urban trout stream. It's been fun using the 3wt I built last winter. Something nice about using a rod you built and flies you've tied. Cheers!
Good to see that urban trout are not neglected in the USA. You might enjoy a peep at this UK blog on a similar theme. http://urbantrout.blogspot.com/ It is truly amazing what trout can survive, clinging on until the day when the river is allowed to get nearer to its natural state...
I'm building a rod this winter, and I can't wait to have "that feeling." Beautiful brown, by the way!
ReplyDeleteI just found your blog a few days ago. Looking forward to follow your posts. I live in Mt. Vernon, Iowa.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you saying that there isn't anything like using the rod and flies built/tied yourself!
ReplyDeleteI also dont mind fishing those "urban" trout streams!
John,
ReplyDeleteBeautiful site you've put together. I look forward to following your future posts. Nice looking brown.
