Creek Smallies

Chasing fish on my local creeks with light gear has always been a favorite of mine. The creeks resemble larger driftless streams but are too warm to sustain trout. The variety of species to be caught is excellent -- smallmouth, quillback, carp, suckers, catfish, and pike.

  2. John...that's a REALLY fantastic video! I love the fast-motion walking and casting, the above and below water release shots....What camera are you using, and what video-editing software?

Very nice video. It's always fun to catch something besides trout on a fly rod.

  5. Nice little video. Looks a lot like my current home waters.

I also like that you hooked the tree on your back cast!

(Not that I've EVER done that. No, never.)

  7. Smallies and pike, in streams that look driftless-like, sounds like a dream to me!
